David, UK farmer:
We have always cleaned our troughs in the past with a five gallon bucket, and a hand brush - and have always kept our troughs clean.
But not nearly enough thought and attention is given to drinking water for cattle (even though it is a welfare requirement), dairy cows in particular, and when you think that water consumption is vital for milk production, and a cows sense of taste, and smell, is around three times better than our own, you really would think that clean drinking water for cattle, would be afforded rather more thought from some, along with testing the quality of private water supplies, that you may know exactly what the cattle are drinking.

Jim, New Zealand farmer:
Received your trough pump, found it to be most efficient and doing the job exactly as your pamphlet described.
We would recommend this to anybody who has many troughs to keep clean.
With many thanks.
Question:
Just enquiring about your trough cleaning machines, having just recently tried to use it.
When the trough gets low on water or the suction head screen gets blocked the pump "un-primes" - this occurs more frequently the lower the trough gets.
Have watched the promotional video on your website to make sure I have been doing everything ok.
Are you able to provide any further help in respect to resolving this?
Answer:
Thanks for contacting Condor.
If the trough cleaner round foot tool is lifted above the water level it will suck air and pump will lose its prime.
To keep it steadily sucking / pumping the foot must be kept submerged.
If you turn the tap off and then lift the foot out of the water the pump will then hold its prime.
ie; the line will stay filled with water.
Trust this helps?
